This weekend see’s The Mullets host league new comers Infinity FC in what promises to be an entertaining spectacle at Mill Road.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides in three months – with both sides claiming the spoils in the previous encounters – Arundel in the reverse league fixture back in August, and Inifity with the last gasp cup victory over The Mullets only a matter of weeks ago.

Having parted ways with former manager Rich Bessy in late September, Infinity have gone on to lose just one game ten fixtures, and will arrive at Mill Road full of confidence.

Mealwhile Mullets manager Craig Stuart is hoping his side can bounce back after a difficult week which saw his side lose to last minute goals in two fixtures – the most recent been last weekends dissapointing home defeat to Chessington & Hook United.

The defeat saw Stuarts’ men slip to 13th place in the table, and although only six points seperates his side from 7th placed Godalming (Arundel have 2 games in hand), Stuart knows the importance of his side picking up points over the festive period.

“We need to start picking up points if we are going to reach our targets. It is as simple as that really”

“Our performances have not been that bad.”

“We have been guilty of switching off at key moments, and I know the lads are desperate to put things right.”

“I dare say it, but we need that little bit of luck at the moment when things are going against you – and I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around – our fortunes will change for sure.”

So what does The Mullets Manager think of this weekends opponents?

“Infinity are a good physical side who are well organised and can also play.”

“The new manager has done a great job.”

“We have had two really competitive away games against them this season, and as much as the last second defeat frustrates me to this day – we probably put a season best performance in against them in the 1-0 win on their patch earlier in the season.”

“We rested a few players in the last game we played them in order to give minutes to some lads who needed them – and it has really helped not having a midweek game this week (match postponed vs Mile Oak) to allow everyone a chance to re-charge, re-focus and prepare for what promises to be a cracking game”

“The lads have trained well this week. We have all had a chat, and everyone knows what is expected of them.”

“The good thing about this group is that they know our standards, they love the club – and they know what they need to do to get things back on track.”
