It was only last weekend that the two sides faced off in a controversial 4-1 defeat for The Mullets, in a game which produced no less than 4 penalty decisions.
The defeat see’s Craig Stuarts men slip to 13th place in the league table, and the manager is quite rightly looking to put things right over the festive period.
“It was a strange game last week.”
“I have never been involved in a match with four penalties – it was equally confusing and bizarre at the same time.”
“We really need to work on our concentration and organisational levels as a defensive unit, and that is something which we are working on.”
“These lads have not become bad footballers overnight. We have a good team – by far the best group I have worked with since I came to the club.”
“We just need everyone to stick together, ride out this period, sprinkle on a little luck, and things will start to change for the better.”
“The whole team (including the management team) are hurting at the moment, and we know we need to get some points on the board and quickly if we are to get ourselves back up the table and into the play-off hunt.”
By contrast, tomorrow’s opponents are in a rich vein of form, having only tasted defeat twice over a three-month period.
During this period “The Badgers” have scored 19 goals, and arrive at Mill Road confident of coming away with three points and continuing what is turning into a two horse race at the top of the table with current league leaders Forest Row.
So, will the Mullets be giving away any early Christmas presents to the opposition tomorrow?
“Absolutely not. We are going to give it a right good go and hopefully we can put on a positive display for the club and our supporters.”
“Things will turn – I am certain of that. People just need to stick with us, keep believing and encouraging the lads.”
“The club is in a fantastic place off the pitch at the moment, we just need to get back to winning ways on the pitch.”
“Hopefully we can send everyone off home tomorrow afternoon with an early Christmas present.”
